Outdoor summer wedding clothes have slightly different rules than indoor wedding clothes. Many grooms skip the men's suits, wedding fashion trends notwithstanding, because they are simply too hot for outdoor festivities. In a way, anything goes for outdoor weddings.
If you are getting married on the beach, a Hawaiian shirt is considered perfectly acceptable for summer wedding clothes. You may choose to do a shirt and tie without the suit jacket. Colors are much more acceptable as outdoor summer wedding clothes than for indoor weddings. If you are getting married outside, talk to your bride-to-be about what she would be comfortable with seeing on you and your groomsmen.
